This anthology presents for the first time on LP all the published and surviving unpublished HMV recordings made by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears. With the exception of a single record made in America in 1941 it presents the beginning of Britten's long association with the gramophone and also heralds the birth of his artistic collaboration with Peter Pears.
